Our Reunification program assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have been affected by past Australian Government removal policies, including separation through adoption, fostering, removal or institutionalisation.

Link-Up (NSW) provides a professional, confidential and culturally appropriate Reunification service to members of the Stolen Generations.

You are eligible to become a client of our Reunification program if:

  • You are, or are identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Are over the age of 18
  • There has been removal in your family and;
  • You are seeking to be reunited (with family including graveside, country and/or community)

Our Reunification program offers the following services:

  • Family history research and family tracing to locate family members for the purpose of reunion
  • Assistance for family reunions, return to country, community graveside reunion
  • Social and emotional support before, during and after a reunion
  • Healing camps
  • Referrals to other agencies where appropriate
  • Community events and outreach

We can’t help you with:

  • Family tracing and Family History research for people other than Link-Up Reunification clients
  • Native title, land rights, compensation or reparations claims
  • Financial assistance outside our core business services
  • Locating missing persons
  • Funeral expenses, including gravestones and monuments
  • Confirmation of Aboriginality (only eligible and accepted clients can receive this)
